He is survived by: his wife Jeanette (Shymanski); his parent Roy Margetts; his brother David (Vivian); his stepdaughter Sheena; his children, Elli, Daniel, Tracy MacDonald, Selina MacDonald (Jason Chartrand) and Jeannine MacDonald (Blair); his stepchildren, Glen (Amy), Steven, Cindy Phinny and Mariann Vianello; his grandchildren, Drew MacDonald and Tye MacDonald; and also, Mark (Susan) and Heather De Jong (Pat). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, his many close community friends.
