He is survived by: his wife Joanne; his father Chris Van Oort; his children, Tom Van Oort (Elsbeth), Jessica Van Ginkel (Arie), Jerome Van Oort (Suzan), Emily Van Leeuwen (Gary), Crystal Van Ginkel (Nathan) and Katie Kersten (Gerben); and his siblings, Tony Van Oort (Lineke), Leonard Van Oort (Theresa), Robert Van Oort (Catherine), Monica Boot (Jaco), Jenny Klaassen (Chris), Bill Bisschop (Hannie), Dianne Klaassen (Case), Marion Klaassen (Bill) and Barb Klop (Gerald). He is also survived by 33 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Martin Brothers Riverview Chapels (610 4th St S, Lethbridge, AB T1J4P3). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM.
