He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Gainford and Lola Gainford; his wife Rita Gainford; his sons, Ian and Jeff; and his mother-in-law Gracie VanNiedek.
He is survived by: his siblings, Shirley, Margaret (Paul), Helen and Diane (Terry); his siblings-in-law, Bob (Deb), Casey (Glenda), Pat (Bill) and Lorraine; and his father-in-law Bill VanNiedek. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
