“Lydia and her sister Ruby rented rooms in our house (P. D. Friesens in Steinbach) when I was a boy. I remember Lydia for her warm good-heartedness, and I feel sad to know that she passed away. Condolences to her family. The picture is of Lydia on the right, my aunt Marie Thiessen on the left, and my mom in the middle. Taken in the mid-50s, I think.”
