He was predeceased by: his parent Alois Lorenz; and his brother Irvin Lorenz. He is survived by: his stepfather Hubert Lorenz; and his siblings, Carol Martens (Jim) of Lloydminster, Joan Ollen (Ray) of Lloydminster, Rick Lorenz (Janice) of Lloydminster, Loretta Lorenz (William) of Kitscoty and Val Green (Doug) of Foam Lake. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
