She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Fred Wells and Ethel Wells; her siblings, Arthur Wells (Marie), Noreen Mckone (Ralph) and Phyllis Westwood; her former spouse Russell Purdon; her sons, Bryan Purdon (Jan) of Clinton Ontario and Milton Purdon (Dianne) of Lloydminster Alberta; her granddaughters, Thelma Dougherty of Campbell River, BC and Linda Coghlin (Dennis) of Listowel Ontario; and her husband John Dow. She was also cherished by 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Donations in memory of Joan may be made to Arthritis Society of Canada, Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB), or donor's charity of choice.
