He was predeceased by: his parents, Viola Geneva Halvorson and Norris Palmer Halvorson; and his brother Hartley Halvorson. He is survived by: his sister Darlene Zirk (Herb); his sister-in-law Louise Halvorson; and his sibling's children, Terry Paulsen (Chris), Warren Zirk (Kathy), Carol Hammen (James), Darren Zirk (Carey), Jeremy Halvorson (Robyn), Dani Halvorson, Dustin Halvorson and Lakin Cozman (Chris).
