He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip Winterhalt and Catherine Winterhalt; and his daughter-in-law Charlotte Winterhalt. He is survived by: his wife Doreen Winterhalt; his children, James Winterhalt, Catherine Wildeman (Edward), Bernadette Winterhalt (Fred) and Calvin Winterhalt (Tracy); and his grandchildren, Troy Winterhalt (Jasmine), Jeanine Maurer (Terry), Jolien Wildeman, Shannon LaRose (Tim), Shaun Wildeman (Jessica), James Winterhalt, Jennifer Tarleton (Kevin), Kimberly Pitt (Billy), Caitlin Vert (Tyler), Cassandra Dase (Andy) and Charlie Winterhalt. He is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family along with many dear friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church (2704 56 Ave, Lloydminster, AB T9V0M2).
Donations in memory of Nikolaus may be made to Heart and Stroke or Alzheimer Society of Canada.
