He was predeceased by: his parents, Abe K Toews and Elisabeth Toews; and his wife Preceding. He is survived by: his children, Marilyn of Lloydminster, AB, Ray, Andrea of Dewberry, AB, Alana, Marcel [Asher], Isaac, Carly, Kyle [Eloise] Giesbrecht, Micah, Lindsey, Heather, Mike Trask of Edmonton, AB, Lewy, Rhea of Welsford, NS, Bryce, Leslie, Rochelle, Sharilynn, Rylan, Brad and Kimberly of Edmonton, AB; his siblings, Margaret Evans, Lillian Loewen, Harvey (Eileen Toews) and Dennis (Hannah Toews); and his sisters-in-law, Mae Toews, Anne Toews, Anna Karpetz and Helen Bueckert.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 7th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Lakeland Church of God in Christ. A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 8th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.

He moved to Vermilion and District Housing Foundation and later to Pioneer House in Lloydminster.
