He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Cookson (Tom) and Elsie Cookson (Renshaw); his wife Verona Loreen Bitzer; his siblings, Ernest and Rosemary Jack; and his sons-in-law, Greg Martin, Bob Rosiechuk and David Edey.
He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Donald Bitzer (Carol), Laurel Bitzer (Betty) and Eunice Cookson. He is also survived by his 3 daughters, 1 son, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and another great-grandson.
Donations in Don's memory may be made to the Lougheed Cemetery Fund, the Lougheed Curling Club, St. John's Anglican Church, Killam Continuing Care or the charity of the donor's choice.
