With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Liz Mathiot of Mallaig, Alberta, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Liz left this world on June 9, 2025 at the age of 53, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Hagen and Bertha Hagen; her in-laws, Helen and Jean Mathiot; her brothers, Donny Hagen (Linda) and Dennis Hagen; her brother-in-law Bud Smigielski; and her grandmother Danena MacKinnon.
She is survived by: her husband Claude; her daughters, Jenna, Mikayla, Caitlyn (Hunter) and Suzanne (Jonathan); and her siblings, Genie Gardner (Doug), Eileen Smigielski, Edith Lukinuk (George), Laurence Hagen (Beverly), Barry Hagen, Keith Hagen, Kenny Hagen, Elsie Hagen and Melody Kwiatkowski (Ben). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews & extended family.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Goodridge Jubilee Hall (49531 Township Rd 624, Goodridge, AB T0A2K0).
