Gaston Mencke Obituary
We announce the death of Gaston Mencke of McLennan, Alberta, who passed away on August 9, 2026, at the age of 97. Gaston will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustave Mencke and Louise Mencke (Pringels); his wife Marie; his children, Nicole, René and Pierre; and his sisters, Andrée and Gilberte.
He is survived by: his children, Huguette (Ben), Gilles, Louis, Jean, Marcel and Claude (Francia); his grandchildren, Sam (Carissa), Connie (Andy), Thomas (Rubie), Christian and Cassidy; and his great grandchildren, Sadie, Audrey, Henry, Harlow, Troy and Brynn.
In 1991, the Mencke family's contribution to agriculture was recognized with an Alberta Farm Family Award, an honour Gaston treasured.
