He was predeceased by: his parents, John Seitz and Mary Seitz; his sister Bernice Flaig; his brothers-in-law, Bill and Jim Flaig; his parents-in-law, John and Caroline Lutz; and his siblings-in-law, Elsie Zimmerman, Emma Christman, Alma Robinson, Barbara Lutz, Lydia Stokes, Reynie Lutz, Rudy Zimmerman, Philip Christman, Albert Stokes and Elvin Robinson.

He is survived by: his wife Magdalena Seitz of Medicine Hat; his son Hoyt Seitz (Shannon); his grandchildren, Kyle and Louisa of Lethbridge; his son Anthony Seitz (Shauna); his grandchildren, Brooklyn (Luke Gehlert), Ethan and Gavin of Edmonton; his daughter Dawn Straub (Wendell); his granddaughters, Mindy and Kimberley of Hilda; his great grandchild Miles Seitz-Gehlert; his siblings, Carmen Flaig and Garth Seitz (Marilyn) of Medicine Hat; and his siblings-in-law, Martha Lutz of Sylvan Lake, Rose Wymenga (Dick) of Leslieville and Fred Lutz (Robin) of Innisfail. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
