He was predeceased by: his child Byron; his parents, Albert Martin and Edna Martin; and his father-in-law Ted Bulanda. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Martin; his children, Drew Martin (Amanda), Owen Martin (Jaime) and Erica Sargent (Eddie); his grandchildren, Kinley and Brynn Sargent; his brother Harlan Martin (Deb); his mother-in-law Mary Bulanda; and his nephews, Ryan Martin (Krystal) and Derek Martin (Erin).
He also volunteered A LOT at the Knights of Columbus, Medicine Hat Catholic Education Foundation, and The Lion's Club.
