He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Henry Schmidt and Mary Schmidt; his wife Helen Willms; his sister Elvira Hiebert (Seigfried); his son Lawrence (Rosalind); his grandchildren, Kennedy, Lucas and Jesse; his son Sheldon (Karen); his grandchildren, Abby (Colton) and Koover; his daughter-in-law Cindy; and his grandchildren-in-law, Miranda and Jeffrey.

Danny was always active in the community involved in Lions Club, Rotary, Gideons, charity functions, minor hockey, and in his local church.
