He was predeceased by: his wife Louise Bishop; his son Dale; his father Dick; his stepmother Della; his mother Nellie Berry; his stepfather Milton (Slim Berry); his brother Jack Verwoerd; and his brother-in-law Bob Rose.
He is survived by: his daughter Susan Fode (Ron); his grandson Brandon Moser; his stepgranddaughter Kendra Robinson (Connor); his siblings, Carol Rose, Karen Hunter (Ralph), Jim Verwoerd (Judy) and Tom Verwoerd (Joanne); his sister-in-law Karin Verwoerd; and his cousin Jan Verwoerd (Wimmy) of Amsterdam.
