He was predeceased by: his parents, Emil Hilgarth and Laura Mang; and his sister Deanna Schindel. He is survived by: his wife Annette; his daughters, Sher-Lynn Johnson (Bruce) and Kendra Bulloch (Scott); and his grandchildren, Shelby Herrmann (Ty), KC, Jaslyn, Garrett, Brooke Johnson, Samantha Ruston (Chace), Kadence, Lexanna Bulloch, Alexandra Geyson (Kelhn) and Kieran Bulloch. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the Saamis Memorial (1 Dunmore Rd SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A1Z5). A reception was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Saamis Creekside Centre (11 Dunmore Rd SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A1Z5).
