She was predeceased by: her husband Lawrence "Larry" Burniston; her son-in-law Wayne Meier; her grandchildren, Peggy Carnegie (Meier) and Brent Meier; her great great grandchild Ocean Oldford; her siblings, John Gustafson and Vera Holmes; and her parents, Seth Gustafson and Pheobe Gustafson.
She is survived by: her children, Gladys Winder (Ed), Mary Meier, Richard Burniston (Debbie) and Loreen Burniston; and her grandchildren, Bev Gutfriend (Barry), Larry Winder (Danielle Reckseidler) and Bryan Litton (Ashley). She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, and two great great great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Pattison Funeral Home (540 S Railway St, Medicine Hat, AB T1A2T4). A celebration of life was held on Monday, January 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Centre on Monday.
