With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Ponto of Medicine Hat, Alberta, who passed away on November 7, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Norman Ponto; her parents, Joseph Zawalsky and Anna Zawalsky; her daughter-in-law Janice Ponto; her siblings, Louise Gessner, Mary Thom, Olga Holliday, Ann Esterer, Ivan Zawalsky and Michael Zawalsky; and her close friend Sidney Penley.
She is survived by: her children, Terry Pederson (Dwain) of Medicine Hat and Gordon Ponto of Medicine Hat; her grandchildren, Jaime, Trevor, Trent, Tyler and Stephan; her great grandchildren, Presley, Jordyn, Paisley, Jonah and Lexi; and her sister Irene Milligan of Saskatoon, SK. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
