He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Ziegenhagel and Elsie Ziegenhagel; and his former wife Esther Ziegenhagel. He is survived by: his wife Bertha; his children, Robert Ziegenhagel (Kathy) and Brenda Derheim (Gerald); his grandchildren, Ried Derheim (Jessica) and Kristy Coxson (Ben); and his great grandchildren, Esther and Emma Coxson.
