It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hugh Varty in Medicine Hat, Alberta, born in Edgerton, Alberta, who passed away on March 9, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Truman Varty and Ida May Varty; his sister Irene Johnson; and his brother-in-law Rueben Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Doreen Varty; his children, Catherine Klein (Richard), Pat Geiger (Eldon) and William Varty (Erin); his grandchildren, Monica Geiger, Monty Geiger and Dustin Klein; his niece Sharon Harwood; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Markley and Nathan Harwood; and his nephew Allan Johnson. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
