He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth and Joseph; and his siblings, Pauline, Johannah Kuntz (Mathew), Matt and Jim.

He is survived by: his wife Christina Lorentz of Medicine Hat; his son Garry (Jane); his grandchildren, Brad (Nauda) and Nicole (Kevin); his great grandchild Olivia of Calgary; his grandsons, Darryl (Dixie) of Medicine Hat and Ivan (Jackie); his great grandchildren, Ryan (Meagan) of Calgary and Katelyn (Darcy) of Calgary; and his sisters-in-law, Sheila of Kimberly, B. C. and Alice of Calgary. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
