It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katherine Christina Schafer of Medicine Hat, Alberta, who passed away on May 16, 2021, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Anthony "Tony" Schafer; her parents, Joseph Bosch and Helena Bosch; and her siblings, Annie Bespflug, Martha Hagel, Lena Schafer, Tillie Krassman, Tony and Lucas Bosch.
She is survived by: her children, Jeanette Forrest (George) of Grande Prairie and Raymond Schafer (Marilyn) of Calgary; her grandchildren, Darrel Forrest (Cathy), Jackie C. Forrest (Ron Holtorf), Kristie Schafer and Ryan Schafer (Madison); her great grandchildren, Jordyn, Evan Forrest, Jade Holtorf and Emmery Schafer; and her sister Mary. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Holy Family Parish, Roman Catholic Church, on Thursday, May 20, 2021.
