He was predeceased by: his wife Lorna Lorraine Schwabe; his parents, Fred Schwabe and Mary Schwabe; his sons-in-law, Dennis Haag and Taras Melnyczuk; and his siblings, Melba Rath (Emil) and John Schwabe (Mary).
He is survived by: his children, Lorraine Mary Louise "Lou" Haag, Leonard Benjamin Sidney "Sid" Schwabe (Tracy Laubenstein) and Rhonoda Lee "Ronnie" Melnyczuk; and his grandchildren, Lindsey Gebhart (Lonnie), Nikki O'Connor (Denny), A. J. Schwabe, Melory Byers (Matty), Megan Melnyczuk (Greg Heukshorst) and Wasyl Melnyczuk. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
