She was predeceased by: her husband Ben Schafer; her parents, Wilbert Jacober and Eva Jacober; and her sister Jeanette. She is survived by: her daughters, Terry Fitterer (Bill) and Sandra Crane (Mark); her grandchildren, Shane Fitterer (Kaylea), Bailey (Tyson Zabel) and Ashton Lutz (Bryden); and her great grandchildren, Branko Matulin, Sebastian Matulin, Ozymandias Zabel and Linden Lutz.

Viewing was held on Friday, January 9th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pattison Funeral Home (540 S Railway St, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 2V6). A celebration of life was held on Friday, January 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
