He was predeceased by: his parents, Lenora Rieger and Adam Rieger; his stepmother Lydia Rieger; his wife Shirley Rieger; and his sister Elaine Rieger.

He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey (Catherine), Jeremy (Stacy), Joy (Stacy) and Jennifer (Allen); his siblings, Horace (Karen) and Judy Aberle (Ed); his mother-in-law Cora Reider; and his siblings-in-law, Dennis Reider (Nary) and Mary Richards (Alan). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
