She was predeceased by: her husband Al Gerwing; and her parents, Olga Podjan and Albert Podjan. She is survived by: her children, Dwayne Turner (Lisa), Darla Peloski (Allan), Peter (Glenus), Rollie (Chris), Lynne, Paulette Gunn (Donny), Murray (Dina), Jimmy (Christine), Robin (Kathleen) and Cameron; and her close friend Tamara Kuntz (William). She is also survived by nineteen great grandchildren.
