With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Michael Gyorfi of Medicine Hat, Alberta, born in Bow Island, Alberta, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his wife Grace Gyorfi; his parents, Alex Gyorfi and Elizabeth Gyorfi; his siblings, Bernard, Alexander Jr. and Isabelle; and his sons, Doug and Robert.
He is survived by: his daughter Margo Merkl (Frank) of Medicine Hat; his grandchildren, Kristin Townsend (Tyler), Andrea Merkl, Janine Merkl (Curtis Cleveland), Jaimee Gyorfi (Stephen), Kayla Courtney (Shaun) and Adam Gyorfi (Danielle); and his sister Kay Phillips (Bud) of Lethbridge. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
In addition to his contributions to agriculture, Mike dedicated much of his life to serving his community and advancing education.
