He was predeceased by: his parents, Gottlieb Schneider (George) and Lydia Schneider; his son Denis; his wife Erna; his siblings, George and Adeline Doble; and his grandchildren, Rick Schneider and Alexandra Friesen.
He is survived by: his children, Deanna Kerik (George) of High River, Delores Dawson (Herb) of Medicine Hat, Ken Schneider (Berta) of Duncan, BC, Garry Schneider (Delores) of Bellevue, AB and Beverly Friesen (Ken) of Medicine Hat. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
