She was predeceased by: her husband Bob Schmidt; her parents, Elsie Wallawein and Arthur Wallawein; and her brothers, Don and Gordon Wallawein.

She is survived by: her daughters, Michele Hammel (Tal) and Melody Guckert (Wayne); her grandchildren, Marissa Hammel, Brayden Guckert (Rebecca) and Teyara Heerink (Jordan); her great grandchild Knox; and her sister Evelyn Kelln (Jerry). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
