She was predeceased by: her husband Peter Kowall; her parents, Sophie and Nick; and her siblings, John, Frank, Joe and Alice.

She is survived by: her children, Iris (Mervin), Karen (Cam) and Terry (Gay); her grandchildren, Jaime (Geoff), Ashley, Jordan (Trisha), Christine and Michael; her great grandchildren, Darien (Colton) and Korbin; her great great grandchildren, Adellia and Blakely; her sister-in-law Rita; and her brother Paul. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Edith's memory to the Rivercrest Care Centre in the hope that other families can benefit from their care.
