He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Margaret; his son James Swayda (Amberlee); his grandchildren, Hunter, Harrison, Antoine, Gabriel and Lily; and his siblings, Sharon (Barry) and Edward (Anita). He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews and a lifetime of friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in memory of Garry to the Drumheller District Humane Society.
