He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernst and Kate; his siblings, Inge and Eckhard; and his son Kevin.

He is survived by: his wife Erika; his children, Krista, Andy (Shauna), Carla (Andy) and Rick (Sharon); his grandchildren, Deklen, Kearah, Mckenna, Lacey, Josh, Darian, Makenzie and Connor; and his sisters, Elfriede and Marianne. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
