He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Kirkland and Carrie Kirkland; his wife Willma Kirkland; his daughter Terri; and his brother Don Kirkland.
He is survived by: his daughters, Susan and Allison (Kevin); and his grandchildren, Barbara, James, Michael, Dawn, David and Kourtney.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Leyden's Funeral Home (304 18 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2S0C3).
In line with his interests, donations may be made to A Living Tribute to plant a tree or the Calgary Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
