Joy left this world on April 12, 2026 at the age of 78, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, David Manitowabi and Agatha Manitowabi (Mendoshkong); her siblings, Catherine Manitowabi, Shirley McKay (Don), Mary-Grace MacGregor (Don), Veronica Jacko (Andy Manitowabi) and Peak Sr. Manitowabi (Dominic); and her parents-in-law, Laurie and Helen Gauvreau.

She is survived by: her husband Gordon; her children, Darlene Wiebe (Herman), Karen Schoettler (Jeff) and Don Gauvreau (Lindsay); her grandchildren, Louis, Cassandra, Riley, Rachel, Averi and Hayden; her siblings, Medora Hicks (Don), David Manitowabi (Susan) and Ronald Manitowabi; and her siblings-in-law, Judy Kezema (Roy), Laura Kraft (Steve), Ruth Gauvreau, Shelly Gauvreau, Henry Gauvreau (Joy), Andy Gauvreau (Carmen) and James McGregor. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
