He was predeceased by : his father Merle; his brother-in-law Herman Rhode; his nephew Locky Frey; his mother Nora; his sister-in-law Irene; his brother Neville; and his sisters-in-law, Marjorie and Rose.

He is survived by : his wife Olga; his children, Pam Cartwright (Greg), Maurena Gordey, Darleen Budal (Clarence) and Errol Gordey (Sandi); his siblings, Lorne Gordey (Mary), Lyle and Joan Frey (Willie); his grandchildren, Whitney Riddell (Christy), Catlin Brown, Mikaela Gordey-Parenteau (Joe), Blake Gordey, Thor Budal (Kaylee), Cole Smith (Emily) and Mandi Stewart (Ryan); his great grandchildren, Elliot Brown, Christopher Riddell and Natalie Wood; and also Ron Matheson.
