It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Leonard Verbaas of Picture Butte, Alberta, who passed away on August 6, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Johannes Verbaas and Dirjke Verbaas; and his siblings, Jake Verbaas, Heltje Verbaas, Betsie Van Der (Arie) and Susanna Martin.

He is survived by : his wife Linda Verbaas of Blairmore, AB; his children, Leonard Verbaas (Thyra) of Coldstream, BC and Melissa Blais (Mikey) of Gracefield, QC; his grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, Jared and Nicholas (Chelsea); his brothers, Henry Verbaas of Blairmore, AB and Conrad Verbaas (Anne) of Bellevue, AB; and his brother-in-law Charlie Martin. He is also survived by his extended family and many friends.
