She was predeceased by: her husband Donald Frank Compton; her parents, Roy Cresswell and Selma Cresswell; and her siblings, Roger and Betty-Lou.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda (David) and Brian (Lucy); her grandchildren, Chantelle, Chelsea (Myles), Shawna (Patrick), David-Dwayne (Crystal), Sheri (John), Michael (Clare), Moises (Christina), Mary (Devon), Edward (Michelle) and Brian; and her sister Ilene. She is also survived by her many great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Joan's honour.
