He was predeceased by: his father Edison Stephan Peter Lightning; his great-grandparents, Olive, Stanley Buffalo, Francis and Annie Lightning; his uncle Brad Omeasoo; his close friend Aaron Montour; his uncles, Lance Cutarm and Ricky Buffalo; and his nephew Baby Buffalo-Potts.

He is survived by: his children, Olivia Buffalo, Rhaenyra Buffalo-Roan, Jaxon Buffalo and Bryden Buffalo; his mother Ranee Buffalo; his siblings, Branden Buffalo, Hunter Buffalo-Bannister, Kenneth Buffalo-Bannister, Cash Buffalo-Bannister, Darius Crier, Chris Jr. Soosay, Skylar Buffalo and Tenneah Stoney; and the mothers of children, Jodi Greene, Brianna Moonias and Raven Roan.
