He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Hager and Wanda Hager; his siblings, Myrna Adams, Craig Hager, Joan Davis, Danny Hogan and Lorna Fountaine; his parents-in-law, Ted and Barb Bouma; and his siblings-in-law, Jackie Bouma, Don Bouma and Purvis Paulgaard.
He is survived by: his wife Lindy Bouma; his children, Jesse Hager, Candice Hager, Marty Hager and Heather Yasel (Yaro); his grandchildren, Zander, Jaxen, Jacob, Jasmine, Mila and Darius; his siblings, Murray Hager (Luc Maria), Grant Hager (Denise), Dawn Paulgaard, Marcia Hicks (Todd) and Judy Laboucane (Urb); and his in-laws, Bernie Bouma (Cheryl), Rick Bouma (Sylvia), Betty Ann Wasylynuk (Pat), Lori Scheck (Ron) and Maurice Fountaine. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Provost Recreation & Cultural Centre (5113 43 St, Provost, AB T0B3S0).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dean's memory to the Canadian Mental Health Association – Alberta Division, in support of men's mental health and addiction services, or to the Provost Cemetery Fund.
