He was predeceased by : his parents, Ted Thompson and Paulette Thompson; and his parents-in-law, Harold and Daphne Early. He is survived by : his children, Rob (Karen) and Maureen; his wife Sharon Early; his grandchildren, Cody and Megan; his sister Marlene Mahoney (Dave); his niece Deanna Steptoe (Shane); his great-nephews, Blake and Brett; his nephew Sean Mahoney; and his aunt Irene Scammell. He is also survived by several cousins and in-laws.
