Lynda Dell (Singleton) Day Obituary
It is with profound gratitude that we honour the life and memory of our dear Mother, Lynda Dell Singleton Day, who passed away on May 20, 2020 at the age of 73. She was born in Timmins, Ontario, to her parents, Ken and Mabel Singleton. As a child, their family came west to Alberta, where in High School she met the love of her life, David Day. After years of courtship, and upon David's return from missionary service in Eastern Canada, they were married on December 27, 1969 for time and all eternity in the Cardston Alberta Temple. Their enduring bond marked its 50th anniversary in December 2019.
Lynda was known for many notable accomplishments in life, but none were greater in her eyes than her successes at home. She was a Mother to many, including her thirteen biological children. Through her life long example, she demonstrated to all who knew her, a legacy of faith, learning, and enduring family bonds. While raising her family, she obtained her Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Social Work, and her Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. Her love for family extended beyond those in her immediate sphere, as she ardently researched family history and taught her family to honour those who came before. She laughed easily and heartily, and found joy in the many gardens she planted wherever she lived.
Though beset with health problems from her earliest years, Lynda persevered and thrived in many roles. She loved her family, sacrificing her time, talents, and everything she had, for their well-being. The journey of life was often hard, but she carried through it faithful to God and to her husband, who were always faithful to her.
She will be missed here, though surely a happy reunion was had with her loving parents and predeceased son Cephas and grandson Jordan Junior.
Due to current gathering restrictions, a small service will be held for immediate family. We hope that all who truly knew Lynda will reflect on her influence in their own lives, and honour the woman we all love.
