He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Thomas and Helena Thomas; his brothers, Edward Thomas and Calvin Thomas; his siblings-in-law, Joyce Thomas, William Stern and Eugene Kohlman; his great-nephew Grant Holte; and his siblings' children, Mark Stern and Beverly Holte.
He is survived by: his friend Sharon Haselwood.
A memorial service was held on Friday, September 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Killam Community Hall (4929 50 St, Killam, AB T0B2L0).
Memorial donations in memory of Sonny may be made to the Diabetes or a charity of the donor's choice.
