She is survived by: her mother Muriel Rita Hertz; her brother Donald (JoAnn); her partner Pete Marples; her daughters, Jaymie Bryan (Greg Sakell), April Janson and Kayla Parasynchuk (Ryan Cullum); her stepdaughter Tara Smith; her grandchildren, Brayden, Jayce, George, Cohen, Aryanna and Jackson; her sibling's children, Christina, Dawn and Matthew; and her pets, Charlie and Sally.

Memorial donations in Karla's name may be made to Alzheimer's Society or the ROAR Society.
