He was predeceased by : his parents, Ida Ahlstrom and Victor Ahlstrom; his parents-in-law, Norman and Edythe Peterson; his brothers-in-law, Skip Peterson, David Peterson and Clayton Kennedy; his nephew Blake Kennedy; and his nieces, Michelle Peterson and Crystal Kerik.

He is survived by : his children, Pauline, John and Nelson.

A memorial service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Leslieville Community Center.

Memorial donations in Lavern's name may be made to Leslieville Elk's Lodge #351.
