She was predeceased by : her husband Jerry Carter. She is survived by : her sister Donna Dornan (Fred); her nephew Bart Dornan (Janet); her niece Tamara Pohl (Dallas); and her cousins, Cal McDougall (Norma) and Debra McDougall.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in honour of Betty may be made to the Edmonton Humane Society.
