With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hedwig Ratke (Sherwood Park, Alberta), who passed away on July 27, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Helmut; her parents, Heinrich Pohle and Auguste Pohle; her son-in-law Gregg Alexander; and her siblings-in-law, Meta Ceretzke, Haddie Erisman, Emily Roth, Ellie Sperber, Julia Ratke, Clarence Ceretzke, Philip Roth, Widimar Ratke, Arthur Ratke and Otto Braun.
She is survived by: her children, Alice Hennig (Ben), Bill Ratke, Harry Ratke, Linda Kroetsch (Darcy), John Ratke (Kim) and Monika Alexander; her grandchildren, Jeremy Hennig (Sasha), Leona Didyk, Kristie Randall, Stephanie Kreuger (Andrew), Sandy Kroetsch, Mitchel Kroetsch (Lindy), Tanya Mengler (Curtis), Jennifer Mhatre (Dhawal) and Melanie Block (Ryan); her great grandchildren, Jason Hennig, Wesley Hennig, Ben Didyk, Cash Didyk, Porter Randall, Holden Randall, Quinn Kreuger, Orrin Kreuger, Nattalie Kroetsch, Kacie Kroetsch, Leah Kroetsch, Ava Mengler, Thorsten Mengler, Arya Mhatre, Saanvi Mhatre, Addison Block and Natalie Block; her sister Lily Braun; and her brothers-in-law, Art Sperber and David Erisman. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
