“Dear Anne, We were very shocked and saddened to hear of Lorne’s sudden passing. Although we did not have the pleasure of spending a great of time with the two of you, every visit was so positively memorable. Lorne was such a gentle, kind, intelligent, fun-loving and generous person. We will never forget him being the ultimate enthusiastic host and tour guide when we visited you at your cabin on the Miramichi River. We are thinking of you and family at this difficult time. Barb & Ted Biggs”

“From Mabel Wong and Family Love is expressed in many ways. Pride in sons’ achievements. Holding a new granddaughter’s hand. Guiding projects and meeting people’s needs in China and Mozambique. Being the best chauffeur for Anne. Sharing food and laughter in Yellowknife this past summer. Lorne was a dear friend who loved. Words of comfort seem so inadequate at this time but Anne, Shaun, Brad, Jocelyn, Sandy and little Charlotte, know that you are never far from our thoughts.”

Together we have enjoyed many great moments and wonderful adventures, whether in the fishing boat, on the golf course, or just sharing a breakfast. Lorne had a way of making people feel welcome with his always friendly demeanour and amazing sense of humour. He will be deeply missed. Kevin Kimpinski”

Jessica Iron wrote a sympathy message

“My condolences to the family on this huge loss. I was so sad to read this news. Dr. Parker was my professor in both my masters and doctorate programs. In fact, he encouraged me to do a doctorate when I really didn't want to, and offered to write me a reference letter. He was always so kind and supportive, it was such a joy to be in his classes. I will really miss him, but I'm so grateful I had the chance to know him in my own small way. He was a blessing to this world. <3”
