Orion Rutley Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our stellar Orion Rutley, he passed away late Friday July 19th early Saturday July 20th, 2024, he was 40 years old. Orion was born in Cut Knife, Saskatchewan on April 7th, 1984. He was raised a prairie boy between Saskatchewan and Alberta. Orion had a passion for music, reading, history, and a huge love for his family. Orion always lived his life to the fullest, pushing the limits to the max at everything he did, whether it had 4 wheels or pushing the buttons of his family and friends. He could make friends wherever he went, he will leave a giant-sized void in all our lives.

He was survived by his parents, Kathleen Gilbert, David Rutley, his grandmother Alice Rutley, brother Adam Gilbert (Mackenzie), Sister Andrea Rutley, Sister Allison Barr (Derrick), nephew Deacon, nieces Kylie, and Skyler, wife Jessica Rutley, numerous aunts and uncles, as well as numerous friends that were like family.

Orion was predeceased by his Grandfather Robert Rutley, Grandfather Lorne McCrystal, Grandmother Martha McCrystal, uncle Gary Gardiner, Uncle Brian Wappel, as well as many beloved friends.

There will be a family viewing from 1pm-2pm and a public viewing from 2pm-3pm on Monday July 29th, 2024, at park place funeral home in Sherwood Park.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking to make a donation to CCMF Alberta or the CMHA Alberta division. (Canadian Men's Mental Health Awareness).
