He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Knippel and Agnes Knippel; his siblings, Frieda Block, Harder (late Bill Block) and Fred Knippel; and his nephews, Greg Knippel, Brad Knippel, Steven Poisson and Lane Poisson.
He is survived by: his son Chad Knippel (Kelly); his grandchildren, Parker and Elliot Knippel; his daughter Jill Hall (Mark); and his siblings, Jacquie Christoffel (Rob), Florence Rempel (Bryan), Glenda Peters (Mel), Doris Poisson (late Conrad) and Butch Knippel (BJ). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to A Safe Place, a women's shelter like those supported by the Associated Canadian Travelers (ACT), of which Sid was a long-time member.
